Inspired by the song "The Fire" by Sons Of Midnight

There is a short story behind this pic.

Coach and Rochelle died after being attacked by two Tanks on the bridge. (The Parish)

Ellis and Nick were the only ones left, and were fighting their way to the chopper waiting on the other side.

With only a few yards left, Nick got badly injured and fell unconscious. Ellis hurried back to Nick's lifeless body and scooped him up in his arms.
He ran as fast as his tired and bruised legs could carry him.

When he finally reached the chopper, he put Nick down on the floor and tried to wake him up.

"Nick??"

Nothing...

"NICK!!"

He checked his vital signs.

No heartbeat...

"Oh Gawd... NO!"

Ellis started doing chest compressions on his lifeless team mate.

Over and over again...

But nothing...

"C'mon man, yew can't leave me now!! Not like this!!"

Ellis then remembered the defibrillator he had strapped to his back. He quickly grabbed it, opened up Nick's jacket and shirt and put the pads in place on his body.

"CLEAR!"

Shocks went through the still not responding conman.

"C'MON NICK!!"

Ellis' eyes were filled with fear.

"CLEAR!!"

He tried over and over again, but nothing happened...

"Don't leave me now...Please..."

Ellis looked down at Nick's shreaded and bruised body.

"Please Nick..."

Tears started to roll down his dirty and blood-smeared cheeks.

"...Ahm sawry Nick... You saved mah life so many times... An' I couldn't save yew when ya needed me the most... Ahm so sawry..."

He took off his tow truck hat and placed it over Nick's face.

For a few moments, he just sat there in silence, crying...

...

...

...

"O-Overalls..."

Ellis eyes widened.

*COUGH COUGH!*

Ellis turned around and faced the older man's body again.

"Overalls..."

Nick spoke with a low, weak voice.

"Nick!!??"

"Hey sport.... Your hat smells like shit..."

Nick raised a hand and pointed at Ellis' prized hat that covered his face.
Even though his whole body was aching, he sat up, facing the mechanic.

"AHMAHGAWD YER ALIVE!!"

Ellis got to his knees in front Nick, threw his arms around him and hugged him.

"Ngh..hey hey that hurts...damn it......Well...I guess this is where I'm about to say thank you... So thank you.....kid...."

Nick put one of his hands on Ellis' back, trying to comfort him.

Ellis: "I seriously thought yew were...Gone..."

Nick: "Well believe it or not...I'm here...Now please tell me you still got some pain pills left..."

I'll just leave the rest to your imagination...
